Single Use Tourniquets
Developed by surgeons, tournistrip digit applies the patented tournistrip technology to the surgical environment, in an innovative surgical tourniquet for application to smaller parts of the body, such as fingers, toes etc. Each digit is provided sterile, for single use, allowing it to be used in the surgical field.
Tournistrip digit™ is designed for multidisciplinary medical and surgical use. It is sterile, single patient use, latex free.
It is currently undergoing final preclinical trials prior to submission for CE approved for use in orthopaedics and cosmetic hand and digit surgery, hospital accident and emergency departments, dermatology and other outpatient department procedures.
Multiple clinical publications have highlighted and documented the dangers associated with the using digital tourniquets. Using the award-winning technology of the tournistrip™, the tournistrip digit™ allows for simple application, and the incorporation of a patent-pending quick release system for release. The user has control of the pressure applied to the digit, providing an optimal bloodless operating field, and mitigating the application of excessive pressure that could cause damage to underlying neuromuscular structures.
Tear-off identification tab
The tournistrip digit™ is made from high-visibility materials and includes a tear-off surgical count tab for patient record keeping.
For increased patient safety, the tournistrip digit™ incorporates a tear-off identification tab to highlight exsanguination time as part of surgical instrument counts. Including the tournistrip digit™ in the count is designed to prevent the device being left on at the end of the procedure, and to integrate tourniquet application with dressing monitoring.
